First of all, let me just say how much I appreciate that I have this community who is so supportive of me as I go through Weight Watchers. My husband Guy and I just completed week 5! Personally, I went through a lot of emotional upheaval this week. And I know why.
For a long time, I have been looking for a resource to teach the Bible to my kids. Not a devotional. Not something heavy. Not something lengthy and overwhelming. I couldn’t find what I was looking for. I prayed about it and I knew that I needed to create it—I’ll share more about the how/why in another post in the future—but I will have my new book ready in the next month or so for anyone else who needs a simple tool to teach the Bible to their kids. I wrote it in the fall and now it’s almost ready for others to use! These Study Buddy Bible Studies series of books are the perfect solution for my family’s needs and I hope they will bless your family too!
I’m incredibly excited to see how God may use it to help other parents and kids learn to LOVE talking through the Bible together. That said, whenever I’m in a season of writing or speaking, I get attacked from the enemy, Satan. I don’t even like typing his name. He is evil and he is at war with me. More on that another time too, but suffice it to say, I could have easily stuffed my body with “feel good” foods to comfort myself during the onslaught this week. I’m betting that some of you know what I mean.
The good news is that I stayed true to the program. I recognized my emotions, my pain, and my losses, and I gave them to the Lord to help me through, without the extra calories tacked on to self-medicate. This is a double whammy victory for me! So, I’ll humbly ask for your continued prayers for me on this journey as well as for my speaking engagements coming up and for my next writing project I’m set to begin next week. Not too shabby, I think. It’s only a little progress, nearly half a pound, but it’s progress! I’ll take it!
